時代箪笥／黒塗庄内閂付小箪笥　スタンド付き【Small chest with metal stand】 [j1205]　Japanese Antique Furniture

山形県庄内地方の小箪笥にアイアンのスタンドを合わせました。庄内地方の特徴的な黒塗りの正面と、背中まで施された深い赤味のコントラストが印象的で和の品格を感じさせる小箪笥。一番下の抽斗には縁起の良い松に梅、そして亀が打ち出しの技術で表されています。閂錠は後年付け替えられた様ですが、同時代、同地方の金具が使用され、丸に梅鉢紋の錺金具もこの箪笥のポイントになっています。

This small chest of drawers from the Shonai region of Yamagata Prefecture is paired with an iron stand. The striking contrast between the distinctive black lacquer of the Shonai region on the front and the deep red that runs all the way to the back gives this small chest of drawers a sense of Japanese elegance. The bottom drawer is decorated with auspicious pine, plum, and turtle designs, all crafted using hammered techniques. The latch appears to have been replaced in later years, but the metal fittings used are from the same era and region, and the round plum blossom motif on the metal fittings is another highlight of this chest of drawers.
